# Launching the app

Once you launch SMASH, the application asks for the possibility to create a new project or open an already existing one. Select the project from your device or define the name of a new one.

If projects have been already opened, a list of recent projects will be available for selection.

SMASH is based on the concept of projects: all the base data collected for a project are saved in the same project database file (GPS logs, simple notes, images, form notes).
